It's that time of year again- Art Basel Miami Beach is in full swing this week.  Fresh off landing from a previous trip, Carole has packed her bags to hit South Beach today.  She is in for quite possibly the busiest week of her year, with works featuring at nine different venues... yes, nine! The following sites will contain pieces by Carole: Miami Projects, Art Miami, Context Miami, Scope Miami, Mana Miami, GLE at Mana, Red Dot Art Fair, and Wynwood Space.

Despite her manic schedule for Miami, Carole wants everyone to feel welcome to spot and approach her throughout the week.

She will be donning her distinct jacket (pictured above) so that anyone who wishes to introduce themselves and ask questions can do just that.  Keep an eye out for that blue and black print, and don't be shy about saying hello!

You can also give Carole a shout on Twitter this week- tweet @CaroleFeuerman with a comment or tagged image of her works around the fairs.

Carole's Picks: Bill Fitzgibbons by Carole Feuerman

by Kelsey Zalimeni

Carole's monthly artist selection for September is Bill Fitzgibbons. The sculptor has exhibited in numerous locations across the globe, gaining notoriety for his large-scale public installations which explore light, color, and their combined effect upon space.

Recently, Fitzgibbons created a social sculpture art performance called 'Passages' in March 2014.  The piece was originally performed at the International Museum of Art and Science in McAllen, Texas.  It was also restaged on a section of the Brownsville, Texas border (as seen in the featured video below).

Poseidon by Carole Feuerman

Carole Feuerman is now exhibiting her newest bronze sculpture, 'Poseidon', at Jim Kempner Fine Art in Chelsea, NYC.  The piece features a male's head with organic shapes of bronze water drops sliding off the surface. This unique look is achieved through a technique that Feuerman herself developed, called 'Painting with Fire.' The artist first conceived of the idea while traveling by plane in 1998, feeling moved to express the gorgeous natural patterns that she witnessed from her aerial vantage point.

Despite its detachment from the rest of the body, 'Poseidon' conveys a surge of momentum, as the viewer anticipates full emergence from below the surface. The scale of the piece in combination with the pedestal height contributes to its potency.
